'The quality and artistry of Sonia's shots is breathtaking.'

Welcome, welcome, welcome!

I'm a West Midlands based photographer who loves photographing families and weddings in equal measures. Oh, and I'm rather partial to taking the imagery of small businesses to the next level. More about that later.

I want to create photographs that beg to be hung up around your home. That you can't stop looking at. That you walk past every day. That make you smile.

Choosing a photographer for your wedding (family or business) is a BIG decision and you will probably want to find out more about me and my approach. Please take a look through my website. It's full of images that best reflect my work and you'll find plenty of 'Client Love' quotes that echo what I can do for you.

If you would like to see a full wedding gallery please get in touch and I will send you a link.

this is me!

Here I am drinking a latte - one of my favourite things to do. Laughing - I do this a lot. Jumping from behind a pillar - please don't let that put you off. Taking photos - which I love doing even more than coffee!

5 things I do do

(if you get the reference to 'Friends' I will be so happy)

I do get along with everyone in front of my lens

I do make you look your most fabulous self

I do keep things simple and relaxed when it comes to posing

I always arrive earlier than planned (I am beyond punctual)

I will encourage you to buy gorgeous, professional prints

5 things I don't do

(let's really see if we're a match)

I don't promise hundreds upon hundreds of images - I favour quality over quantity

I don't do lots of 'traditional' group shots - unless they're really fun and we get carried away

I don't do anything overly fancy - I tried putting prisms in front of my lens and using off camera flash but realised they're an unnecessary distraction

I don't use Photoshop so I won't be making any drastic changes to the images

I don't use pre-sets or stick to one particular style of editing - every image is individually beautifully crafted

where it all began

For our first wedding anniversary we decided to treat ourselves to a decent camera. I was desperate to get CREATIVE and move away from automatic mode. My husband suggested that I should go on a photography course. So I did and I LOVED it.

Little did I know that it would lead to photographing other people's weddings!

Over the years, I have worked extremely hard to develop my skills and I'm now a QUALIFIED, multi award-winning member of the Guild of Photographers. I hate 'blowing my own trumpet' but I want to reassure you that your photography is quite literally in GOOD HANDS.

a bit more about me

celebrity crush

Two words - TOM HARDY. Great actor, great looks and he loves dogs. Picture of my dog Woody, not Tom, due to copywright!

languages spoken

I speak French and German and hope to learn Spanish. So if you're getting married in any FRENCH or GERMAN speaking part of the world I could come in very handy.

my second home

As soon as we drive over the Tamar bridge I am instantly in holiday mode. CARAVANNING in Cornwall is one of my absolute favourite things to do.

I've had my work PUBLISHED in Professional Photo magazine, EXHIBITED at the Courtyard Gallery, Custard Factory and Library of Birmingham.

I've featured in the Guild of Photographer's Image of the Day and won over 100 awards from them. For any local football fans, my photos have made a double spread in the BCFC programme.

Last but not least, I have a framed copy of the email I received from THE LATE QUEEN ELIZABETH II for taking part in the 'Hold Still' photography competition.
