IN A NUTSHELL
Weddings are brilliant and I probably will enjoy it as much as you.
My approach on the day is informal and relaxed. I want to let your day unfold naturally and capture all the moments that beg to be documented.
Weddings are by their very nature a beautiful event. This is all the inspiration I need. I don't want you to feel any pressure to be anything other than your wonderful selves on your wedding day.
So I won't be taking you outside in the rain for an off camera flash pose or creating an intricate flat lay of your wedding details. Unless you want me to!
Your big day. Your way.
That said, gentle direction is required for some shots and that's fine by me. If you ask me to make a feature of a specific wedding detail that means something special to you. Fantastic. Have a particular part of the venue you want to showcase? No problem.
I will be guided by YOU and MY CREATIVE VISION.
my style
Whilst I favour a more documentary approach, please do not think that I just point and shoot. The best shots often happen in the moment but I use every ounce of my experience and artistic eye to create beautiful compositions.
Know that below my calm and relaxed exterior I am constantly considering where I need to be and how I will take the next photograph.
PHOTOGRAPHY PLAN
Before the big day we will carefully draw up a photography plan. This is usually done during the pre-wedding consultation a couple of weeks before the wedding. Ideally, we will do this at the wedding venue.
I promise to listen very carefully to your plans, what's important to you and what's not. What time everything should be taking place and where I need to be.
This is not a strict list of shots that has to be adhered to but a guide. It's good to be prepared but that won't get in the way of spontaneity and creativity on the day!
Any surprises, quirks or curve balls your wedding throws at me you can rest assured that I'll embrace them all.
Oh, and If I find out that you're a huge Star Wars fan or have an obsession with DC comics I may well find a way of incorporating this into the imagery.
GROUP SHOTS
Over the years I have come to appreciate just how important these images are to couples. Let's face it how often do we get all our nearest and dearest together?
That said, let's not make the process unnecessarily onerous.
Please don't think they have to all happen at the same time. I usually identify two opportunities during the day for such shots. At our wedding consultation I will help you to prioritise the most important groupings.
All I ask is that someone gathers the relevant guests for me and I will take care of the rest!
You may even find that the 'group shots' you end up selecting for print aren't the traditional ones. Remember, I will be capturing groups of people throughout the day from the confetti shot to the dance floor.
MY GEAR
I work with two cameras by my side at all times (thank goodness for my trusted harness) and a range of lenses. With back-ups for everything, just in case.
How to book me and what happens next
Step 1: Fill in the contact form below - be as brief or as detailed as you like but please include the date of your wedding if you have it so that I can check my availability.
Step 2: I will get back to you as soon as possible and arrange to discuss your special day and the imagery you are looking for.
We will have an honest chat about your wedding day and ensure that we are a good match.
TOP TIP: It's probably a good idea to take a good look at my website beforehand, especially the 'some of my favourite photos' and 'how much' pages.
Step 3: Now that we have decided that I'm the photographer for you I will send you a wedding contract with all the necessary information. Your date is secured once I receive the deposit (which is non-refundable). We can stay in touch as much or as little as you prefer before the pre-wedding consultation - this isn't as officious as it sounds!
Step 4: About a month before your wedding I will contact you to arrange a pre-wedding consultation. We can do this over the phone but ideally this will be at the wedding venue. Together we will draw up a plan for the day - I promise to listen very carefully and advise where necessary.
Step 5: It's finally your wedding day. I will arrive earlier than planned and probably leave later than expected if there is lots of dance floor action. It's going to be amazing!
Step 6: You will receive your gorgeous wedding gallery 3 weeks after the wedding. Most of my clients love to see a few 'sneak peeks' on social media the day after the wedding.
Plus you get to update your profile picture and announce your newly marital status with a gorgeous professional image!
