I was told on good authority that Marco hardly smiles for photos.

Sometimes you need to compose a shot and wait for one of the guests to make a comment to get the smile you want. Other times I have to rely on my own silly sense of humour to get the desired reaction. Not this time. This was a very natural smile that showed just how happy the groom was to be getting married. There is something about the relaxed way that Marco is leaning against the wall, the string of lights in the background and the hanging basket that is partially on view, that I love.

This photograph has remained in my top ten wedding images for several years and I can't see it budging any time soon.
