SPIDERMAN, SPIDERMAN!

Photographing younger children can be a challenge but it's one I relish. As I mention in 'The essential family shoot guide' there are lots of ways to ensure you get the best from little ones during a photoshoot. Heaps of praise, playing games and good old fashioned bribery can all be very effective.

In some cases, bringing their favourite toy along can work wonders. Just be aware that once you hand over their cherished teddy bear you may not get it back without tears or tantrums. This Spiderman figure featured in nearly all of the family's images and whilst mum was a little disappointed at first, it made the photography much more special. I have seen the gallery of images hanging proudly in their home and I just love the fact that Spiderman became the fifth member of the family for the day.
